Purpose
Banner was created with God in mind (Exodus 17). This is His plan and purpose for my life as a follower of Jesus. If you want to know more about me as a clinician and as a person, this is the best resource. If you keep reading and decide that this isn’t a fit for you, that is ok! Peoria offers great variety in regard to therapists, theoretical orientation, and style. God bless and thank you for your consideration.
Mission
At Banner LLC, therapy is grounded in human dignity, authenticity, and compassion-focused change. I don’t want to just understand you and your concerns; I want to provide you with the resources to make meaningful change. I believe each person enters counseling with a unique story, shaped by relationships, culture, adversity, strengths, and resilience. My role is not to “fix” clients, but to provide a space where they feel heard, understood, challenged thoughtfully, and supported fully.
I value:
Compassion without judgment: Every client deserves empathy, respect, and a place where their experiences are taken seriously.
Authentic connection: Healing often begins in genuine human relationships and community. I strive to be honest, present, and engaged in the therapeutic process.
Evidence-based care: Therapy should be both compassionate and effective. My work is informed by psychological science while tailored to each individual’s needs.
Cultural humility and inclusion: Identity, background, and lived experience matter. I aim to honor the diverse ways people make meaning of their lives.
Growth and resilience: Everyone has experienced suffering. Therapy can help individuals move from surviving to living with intention and purpose. I will meet you where you are and sit with you in your suffering. No one should experience this alone.
Client empowerment: Therapy is collaborative. My goal is to help clients develop insight, confidence, and skills that foster long-term wellbeing beyond the counseling room and to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
Being led: I practice with discernment in my services. I strive to make the best decisions for my clients. I do this through prayer, reading scripture, seeking consultation through other mental health providers, and continuing education.
